U.S. Congressional District 5

BRIAN HUALDE
Running for Office
U.S. House of Representatives CD5
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
I am a fourth-generation Arizonan, healthcare provider, Army veteran, husband, and father of six running to bring practical leadership and working-class values back to government.
After my military service, I built a career in healthcare as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, spending years caring for Arizonans in emergency and critical care settings. Working on the front lines showed me how rising healthcare costs, overcrowded schools, housing prices, and economic uncertainty are putting enormous pressure on Arizona families. Every family deserves access to quality healthcare, strong public education, clean air and water.
I am committed to lowering costs for working families, supporting veterans, and ensuring healthcare is affordable. I believe government should work for everyday people — not just corporations and special interests — and that Arizona’s future depends on investing in its workers, families, and communities.
I am running to fight for a stronger, fairer Arizona where hard work is respected, opportunity is within reach, and no family is left behind.

I believe elected officials should answer to the communities they represent, and I am committed to holding myself accountable to the citizens of Arizona’s 5th District every step of the way. In a democracy, leadership is not about winning arguments, it’s about delivering results. And that is exactly what I am ready to do.

ELIZABETH LEE
Running for Office
U.S. House of Representatives CD5
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
I didn’t wake up one day and decide to run for Congress…
I’ve spent over a decade as a nurse and patient advocate helping thousands of people navigate some of the most emotionally complex, financially devastating, and deeply personal experiences of their lives.
I’m running because YOU deserve someone who will fight for you the way I’ve fought for my patients and for my own care.
I come from the same background as most people in this district and I have spent my life and career fighting broken systems from the patient side, the bedside, and the boardroom. This campaign is about putting real world, proven problem solving and political courage back into our government to serve the good of all people.”

MARY ROSE
Running for Office
AZ House of Representatives
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
I’m a third-generation native Arizonan. I have lived in Gilbert for the past twelve years. In that time, I’ve seen my town grow immensely, but also made increasingly inaccessible to working families as the affordability crisis continues to shrink the middle class and exclude younger generations. Working on Raul Castro’s successful gubernatorial campaign, I learned to recognize the difference between serving people and serving corporate & private interests.
Building an Economy for ALL – I will fight for:
• Affordable Housing
• Funding public school fairly
• Water Sustainability

KATIE HOBBS
Running for Office
AZ GOVERNOR
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
Katie Hobbs is the 24th Governor of Arizona. She is a mom of two adult kids, and lives in Phoenix with her husband and their dog, Harley.
Born and raised in Arizona, Katie Hobbs has spent her life fighting for the people of this state—and she’s never been afraid to tackle hard challenges head-on. Growing up in a working-class family in Tempe, Katie learned the value of service and hard work from her parents. When times were tough, her family relied on food stamps and their church community to get by.
“I know what it takes to turn our challenges into opportunities — opportunities to make Arizona the best place to live, work, and raise a family. We need leaders who will look to the future, not dwell on the past. Leaders who can bring people together to get the job done. I’m going to keep doing just that, and I hope you’ll stand with me.”

As a professor and practicing behavior analyst, I have trained and inspired educators statewide, built inclusive classrooms, and developed transformative interventions for students with autism and developmental disabilities.

CLARA PRATTE
Running for Office
AZ CORPORATION COMMISSION
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
I built my career on public service, and I am now a successful small business owner and entrepreneur as well as a mom to two boys. I’m running to lower costs for Arizonans, restore integrity to the Arizona Corporation Commission, strengthen consumer protections, and ensure Arizona urgently harnesses its clean energy potential before it is too late.
My family did not have access to utilities or running water until I was in middle school so this race, to oversee Arizona’s utilities, is personal.
My career spans decades of successful work advocating for tribal communities and small businesses, including serving under three U.S. Presidents and four Navajo Nation Presidents.
It seems every month The Corporation Commission is allowing Arizonans to be charged more for public utilities. That needs to change.

Maricopa County Offices

SEBASTIAN “SEB” MATTA
Running for Office
MARICOPA COUNTY CLERK OF THE SUPERIOR COURT
Political Party: DEMOCRAT
I am running to expand access to court systems and strengthen trust in one of the largest trial court systems in the country. I will bring a modern, youthful perspective to government. I want to emphasize a strong community presence of the Clerk’s Office to teach as many people as possible what the Office of the Clerk does. Furthermore, I am committed to ensuring that the needs of the Clerk’s office reflect the rapidly advancing Maricopa County and to respect the integrity and sanctity of the judicial system.
Every person deserves access to our government, even if they do not know English. The fact that the Clerk’s website is only in English while other county websites are in multiple languages seems to me like a major issue, and one that I would like to strive to correct.
One of my top priorities would be to conduct more outreach in the community that elected me. An issue that I have noticed in the Clerks’ office is that it seems to be relatively unknown, with its purpose seeming a bit obscure. I would like to go to community meetings, schools, and other gatherings to help educate communities about what the Clerk’s office is and teach people about the legal system in the county we live in.

I am proud to have a reputation for a fair and balanced approach, and I firmly believe in listening to all sides of a situation and researching existing laws and regulations before making decisions.
I truly care about our courts and fair access to justice. I would be honored to have your support to continue to serve the Chandler and Sun Lakes communities as your San Marcos Justice of the Peace.
