I’m not a Democrat, so why should I vote for a Democrat?
We believe in a collaborative effort to achieve positive political outcomes that benefit all Americans. Regardless of whether your views are conservative, liberal or moderate, you will find that Democrats often share common ground with you on many important issues. The expectation is not that you will vote strictly along Democratic Party lines; instead, we encourage you to align your vote with the candidates who best reflect your values. When your beliefs align with Democratic positions on key issues, it just makes sense to vote for candidates who support those values.
Why should I attend D14 Democrats’ monthly meetings?
Your opinions, voice and concerns are critical to creating an inclusive and productive district. Your participation is valued in shaping Arizona politics in your legislative district which is the grassroots level. Whether a liberal, progressive, conservative or moderate, your voice is important and needs to be heard. Monthly meetings also offer the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, build relationships, and collaborate on initiatives that align with your values.
Featured speakers at monthly meetings include leaders from the Town of Gilbert, Maricopa County, and Arizona state government, as well as Senators and Congresspeople, all with the purpose of hearing from you and keeping you informed.
Who oversees Legislative District 14 Democrats (LD14)?
Legislative District 14 Democrats comprise a political party, operating as an extension of the Maricopa County Democratic Party and the Arizona Democratic Party. Elected precinct committeepersons are tasked to elect from its members an executive board comprised of a Chair, (2) Vice Chairs, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The Chair of LD14 is Elizabeth Brown, a person with extensive political experience and a strong network of connections in the political arena.

Each district party has its own bylaws and functions as an extension of the county party and the Arizona Democratic party.
For more information about how we operate, see our Bylaws.
Why are the Legislative Districts always asking for donations?
Just like managing your personal expenses, we also have expenses. We rent the space where we meet monthly. We send out emails and postcards to constituents. During campaign seasons we obtain political yard signs and printed pamphlets for our constituents. The list goes on and on. It all adds up! Please don’t forget to Donate. Even the smallest amount helps us educate constituents and support candidates in the fight for Democracy.
I don’t have a lot of free time, but I could help occasionally. What can I do?
The most valuable word in our vocabulary is “volunteer”! Nothing will change unless more of us find a way to give some of our time, no matter how infrequent. For ideas on what might interest you see Volunteer
Who are my Representatives?
